Then he studied the influence of Aristotle in the Middle Ages, as well as in the Modern and Contemporary ages. In particular, he has covered the problem of contradiction and the dialectic, the distinction between different forms of rationality, the concept of the state, and the issue of human rights.  Prof. Berti is primarily interested in the Aristotelian tradition's metaphysics and the contemporary philosophical debate, both in the field of analytic philosophy to that of hermeneutics.
