Lubomira Radoilska

I received a Master in Philosophy from the University of Sofia (1997), and an MPhil (1999) and a PhD in Philosophy (2003) from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris). I am currently Affiliated Lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Cambridge and Research Associate of the Oxford University Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics. My previous appointments include: Research Fellow at Clare Hall, Cambridge (2003-2007) and Wellcome Trust Research Fellow (2007-2010) at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Cambridge.

Research topics:

My research has focused on developing an Aristotelian conception of autonomous agency that links work in contemporary moral and political philosophy with classical scholarship and engages with research from the sciences.  I am particularly interested in clarifying the relationships between autonomy and virtue in contested cases of autonomy, such as mental disorder.
