The Enteric Virus Laboratory of the University of Barcelona is devoted to the study of human enteric viral agents as norovirus, sapovirus, astrovirus, rotavirus and hepatitis A and E viruses. Studies on these agents cover molecular and clinical aspects of these viruses, as well as their role as food and environmental contaminants.

The Enteric Virus Laboratory was the first university laboratory in Spain to receive the certification of Good Laboratory Practices for validation studies of viral safety and antiviral activity.

The Enteric Virus Laboratory has facilities in two campus of the University of Barcelona: Diagonal Sud and  Campus de l’Alimentació at Torribera.
