Centenary of the Restoration of the UB 1837-1937

During the Second Republic, during the period when the University of Barcelona enjoyed the Statute of Autonomy, Rector Pere Bosch Gimpera wanted to add the word libertas to the motto, but it seems that it was never actually incorporated into the official University arms. It appeared only on a commemorative medal commissioned from the sculptor Clarà for the centenary of the restoration in 1937.
