Introduction

The bachelor's degree in Dentistry provides the scientific and technical knowledge needed to prevent, diagnose and treat health problems related to teeth, jaws, the mouth and oral tissues.

The bachelor's degree in Dentistry is taught according to a theoretical-practical methodology that combines theory and written tests with clinical placements. As a result, graduates emerge with a dentist profile suited for professional practice mainly consisting of public or private care, whether as a self-employed professional or an employee, teaching, research or management. They may also choose to pursue additional higher studies to specialize in any of the dental disciplines (geriatric dentistry, children's dentistry, implantology, orthodontics, etc.). The course provides the necessary training to become a professional capable of applying theoretical knowledge for diagnosis, treatment and recovery from oral pathologies. In addition to theoretical knowledge, students work on the behavioural competencies and aspects required to practice as a dental surgeon.
