LEXIS AND COMMUNICATION

General Information

The principle objective of this master's degree is to provide participants with the theoretical groundwork they will need to understand the mechanisms and procedures involved in communication and the knowledge of communicative analysis that is received by graduate students in Linguistics, Languages and Communication Sciences ' in short, the academic baggage participants will require in order to work successfully in all areas involving communication processes.
There will be two separate degree Pathways, each catering to differences in participants' career expectations, and successful participants will achieve a combination of the following learning outcomes:
- The study of lexis and its various treatments, which is designed for participants wishing to pursue a career in lexicography, lexicology or knowledge management.
- The study of communication and multimedia, which is addressed to trainee lobbyists, professionals involved in advisory positions in multimedia, advertising and marketing, communication specialists and institutional speakers and representatives.
The specific objectives of these two Pathways can be summarised as follows:
- In the first, to train specialists in analysis and research in communication processes and in the practical and theoretical principles of lexicography, lexicology and the software-supported organization and management of information.
- In the second, to provide professionals with the practical and theoretical training they will need on the various processes of meaning transfer in order to be able to analyse and assess language production in a professional capacity, working in the area of audiovisual communication and advertising and in order to approach their professional task with an understanding of language communication and communicative skill in different registers.
- The overall objectives here are to train research personnel and future professors.
