The astrophysicist and science communicator Mario Livio gives a lecture, open to the general public and based on his most recent book Brilliant Blunders, that discusses major mistakes made by five giant scientists who changed our world: Charles Darwin, Lord Kelvin, Linus Pauling, Fred Hoyle and Albert Einstein. 

Mario Livio, researcher at the prestigious Hubble Space Telescope Science Institute, is a popular author of science dissemination works. He has focused particularly on the topics of supernova explosions and their use in cosmology to determine the rate of expansion of the Universe and the nature of dark energy. Livio has published over 400 scientific papers.

Concerning science dissemination, Mario Livio is a self-proclaimed ʻart fanaticʼ. He is the author of the blog A Curious Mind and the works The Golden Ratio (2002) and Is God a Mathematician (2009).
