On 21-23 June Barcelona will host the XVI Annual Meeting of the European Hair Research Society (EHRS). The conference, organised by lecturers at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona Juan Ferrando and Ramon Grimalt, will gather around 500 doctors, biologists, geneticists and researchers from different areas who will discuss the latest developments in the field of trichology, the science and study of hair.
The EHRS, which each year organises its annual meeting in a different European city, is one of the most prestigious organisations in its area of expertise. In this year’s edition, the meeting will take place at the Hotel Barceló Sants (Països Catalans square), in Barcelona, and it will gather researchers from over twenty countries, such as Japan, Korea, China, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Israel and the United Kingdom, among others.
The conference will cover current topics such as latest developments in the treatment of alopecia areata, a disease that can very quickly cause hair loss in some areas and that affects a significant percentage of the population. Other sessions will focus on female hair loss, hair disorders in children, cosmetics and hair, and genetics and new therapeutic research.
