On Saturday 30 June, at 12:00, the Paranymph Hall of the UB’s Historic Building will hold a concert in support of the Theodora Foundation, which aims to improve the quality of life of children and teenagers staying in the hospitals by means of performances made by professionals, such as clowns, magicians, actors, storytellers, etc. The performance at the UB, admission is free, will consist of excerpts from the concert that will be held on the same day, at 19:00, at the Palau de la Música to raise money for the Foundation.

The concert, performed by the Medizenerorchester Bern (conducted by Matthias Kuhn), will include pieces by Federico Chueca, Manuel de Falla, Julius Fučík, Arthur Honegger, Stephen Joshua Sondheim, and Johann Strauss.

The Theodora Foundation was founded in Switzerland in 1993 and from 2000 it also runs programmes in Spanish hospitals. It organises and funds the visits made by Smile Doctors, professional actors who visit children in their hospital rooms and entertain them before and after being surgically treated.
