The postgraduate course in Public Auditing will be offered for the first time next academic year 2012-2013 as a response to the acquired complexity in the functioning of economic and financial control. Therefore, a collaboration agreement was signed on 23 July between the UB, the Catalan Schoolof Public Administration, the Council of Official College of Secretaries, Inspectors and Treasurers from Local Government in Catalonia, the Official College of Economists in Catalonia and the Official College of Chartered Accountants.

The postgraduate course will have the goal of forming and providing an in-depth vision of economic and financial activity, public accounting and internal control in the public sector, in particular of the execution of instruments of financial control, using sampling techniques and public auditing. This training is aimed at secretaries, inspectors and treasurers from local government, inspectors from the General Inspection of the Catalan Government, civil servants from the Public Audit Office of Catalonia or other external control bodies, technicians from the Catalan Government and local entities of Catalonia, people with university degrees and diplomas, private and professional auditors from auditing firms which provide services to the public sector, professionals who are in management positions or administration entities or companies in the public sector and policy makers from different public sector bodies.
