New edition of the Meeting of the Network of Ethics Committees in Universities and Public Research Organizations
From 31 March to 1 April, the Hotel Calípolis in Sitges (Barcelona) hosts the 9th Meeting of the Network of Ethics Committees in Universities and Public Research Organizations, coordinated and opened by Albert Royes, secretary of the Bioethics Committee of the University of Barcelona (CBUB) and member of the Bioethics and Law Observatory (OBD), located at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB-UB).
From 31 March to 1 April, the Hotel Calípolis in Sitges (Barcelona) hosts the 9th Meeting of the Network of Ethics Committees in Universities and Public Research Organizations, coordinated and opened by Albert Royes, secretary of the Bioethics Committee of the University of Barcelona (CBUB) and member of the Bioethics and Law Observatory (OBD), located at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB-UB).
The meeting analyses the debate on criteria and protocols to evaluate research projects and PhD theses in the field of human and social sciences; the consensus about the Royal Decree 53/2013 on the protection of animals used for scientific purpose; the relationship among ethics committees in public universities and research organizations and the League of European Research Universities (LERU), and the debate on different aspects related to ethics committees.
It is important to highlight that the first meeting of ethics committees in Spanish universities took place in November 2002 in Sitges and was organised by UB.
