Professor Eduardo L. Mariño, corresponding member of the Paraguayan National Academy of Pharmacy
On 5 June, Dr Eduardo L. Mariño, professor from the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology of the Faculty of Pharmacy at UB, joined the Paraguayan National Academy of Pharmacy as corresponding member. The ceremony took place at the institutionʼs headquarters on the campus of the National University of Asunción in San Lorenzo (Asunción, Paraguay). Dr Mariño pronounced the lecture entitled “Importancia del relacionamiento entre las Academias de Farmacia iberolatinoamericanas”

The personalities who participated in the event were Dr Froilán Peralta, rector of the National University of Asunción; Dr Lauro Moretto, president of the Brazilian National Academy of Pharmacy; Dr Andrés Amarilla, vice-rector of the National University of Asunción and president of the Paraguayan National Academy of Pharmacy, and Dr Blas Vázquez, vice-president of the Paraguayan National Academy of Pharmacy.
Eduardo L. Mariño heads the Clinical and Pharmacotherapeutic Pharmacy Unit (FCFT) of the University of Barcelona, a consolidated UB teaching innovation group and a research group recognized by the Government of Catalonia. Mariño is also corresponding member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Pharmacy, the Academy of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of Argentina, the Iberoamerican Academy of Pharmacy. Moreover, he is honorary lecturer at Norbert Wiener University in Lima (Peru) and guest of honour at the National University of La Plata (Argentina).
