A student of Business Administration and Management creates a portal of bike-friendly bars in Barcelona
Guillem Carmona, who has just got the degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Barcelona (UB), has created together with the publicist Lara Turón the website Fixed Lover that searches bike-friendly bars and restaurants in Barcelona. The website, which was the final project developed by Guillem Carmona, is a portal that includes more than 40 bars and restaurants and continues receiving new requests.

The website, which was the final project developed by Guillem Carmona, is a portal that includes more than 40 bars and restaurants and continues receiving new requests.
“I developed the project with the aim of improving my CV; in fact some companies contacted me after seeing the website”, affirms Guillem Carmona, who has already found a job. First, he and Lara searched for bars and restaurants interested in being included in the website and they checked that they fulfil the requirements. Now, they are working on an app of Fixed Lovers for mobile devices. “People who visit the website use social networks and smartphones”, points out Guillem. He explains that the idea emerged from their need of leaving bikes somewhere when they go out. “Moreover, we did not need any investment or special material to develop the project”, he adds.
Fixed Lover, named after fixed-gear bikes, includes a map to see where bars and restaurants are located. Most of them are in Barcelona, but there are also some in El Prat del Llobregat and Segur de Calafell. The number of bikes that can be left in each bar or restaurant is detailed.
