The School of Modern Languages (EIM) of UB has already opened the registration period for language courses of the academic year 2014-2015, as well as the period to take level tests.

Throughout the academic year, EIM offers the possibility to study 18 languages on annual, semester-long and summer courses. The registration period that has just been opened is for annual and first-semester courses of German, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Farsi, Russian, Swedish and Chinese.

Face-to-face courses take place from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 9.30 p.m., and on Saturday mornings, from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at UB campuses and El Carme Building in Badalona. Moreover, EIM offers blended courses on English and French and online courses on German, English and French.

Concerning English courses, EIM offerings are large. Besides standard face-to-face, blended and online courses, it also offers specific courses, for instance preparation courses for official exams such as the Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE, CPE), oral fluency courses, courses for academic purposes, courses for pre-university students and people over 55, and a course on pop culture.

UB community members have a discount on registration fees. Registration for beginner courses (level 1, modular 1.1 and introductory courses) is direct and it can be made at EIM's student service in Barcelona and Badalona or online. For the rest of courses, it is necessary to have been passed the previous level at most two years ago or to take the level test before registering.
