Within the UB Plan for Languages, the Office of the Vice-Rector for Students and Language Policy and the Office of the Commissioner for Multilingualism, in collaboration with the Language Services, continues offering to the members of the University of Barcelona the possibility of acquiring advantageous six-month licences for the software Rosetta Stone, an online language self-study method which allows students to improve language skills.

Within the UB Plan for Languages, the Office of the Vice-Rector for Students and Language Policy and the Office of the Commissioner for Multilingualism, in collaboration with the Language Services, continues offering to the members of the University of Barcelona the possibility of acquiring advantageous six-month licences for the software Rosetta Stone, an online language self-study method which allows students to improve language skills.

Rosetta Stone enables to learn twenty-three different languages. To be exact, the software gives the opportunity to learn American English, British English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Korean, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Irish, Japanese, Latin, Dutch, Persian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Swedish, Tagalog (Philippines), Turkish, Vietnamese and Chinese.

This year, Rosetta Stone offers a new type of learning, Rosetta Stone Advantage, which includes allows achieving high levels of English, French and German (levels B2/C1 of the CEFR). In the case of the rest of languages, Rosetta Stone Course enables to attain basic levels (levels A2/B1 of the CEFR).

Enrolment period is opened until 27 October. University community members can purchase a six-month license (from 3 November 2014 to 30 April 2015) or a one-year license (from 3 November 2014 to 29 October 2015).

Rosetta Stone has been offered at the UB since March 2011. During this period, over 4,000 members of the University (students, administrative and service staff and teaching and research staff) have had the chance to learn at least one of the 23 languages offered by the software.
