Paz Fernandez Ortega, associate professor at the UB School of Nursing, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award 2014. The award is conferred by the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) and marks an outstanding personal and professional contribution made by an individual to the field of Oncology Nursing. The award honours individuals who, during their working lifetime, acted an as inspirational leader and whose achievements contributed to EONS and oncology nursing.

Paz Fernandez Ortega, associate professor at the UB School of Nursing, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award 2014. The award is conferred by the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) and marks an outstanding personal and professional contribution made by an individual to the field of Oncology Nursing. The award honours individuals who, during their working lifetime, acted an as inspirational leader and whose achievements contributed to EONS and oncology nursing.

Erik van Muilekom, EONS president, gave the award to Paz Fernandez; he praised her dedication to oncology nursing practice. The award ceremony took place during the 9th EONS Congress which took place in Istanbul (Turkey) from 18 to 19 September 2014.

Paz Fernandez is an associate professor at the Department of Public Health, Mental Health and Perinatal Nursing of the UB School of Nursing and currently works at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) as nursing research coordinator. She was a member of EONS Board between 1999 and 2006 and she has worked in Oncology since 1985.
