The University of Barcelona (UB) ranks 52th in the world ranking, 14th at European level and continues being the only university in Spain included among the worldʼs top 100, according to URAP 2014 (University Ranking by Academic Performance), a classification developed by the Middle East Technical University (METU), in Turkey.

The University of Barcelona (UB) ranks 52th in the world ranking, 14th at European level and continues being the only university in Spain included among the worldʼs top 100, according to URAP 2014 (University Ranking by Academic Performance), a classification developed by the Middle East Technical University (METU), in Turkey.

The UB goes up 42 places in relation to last yearʼs URAP. It is again the only university in Spain recognised with the highest international category (A++) conferred by the ranking, and it improves performance in all the indicators. On this edition, the UB obtains a total of 428.16 points out of 600 points, which is the maximum score given by this international classification.

URAP 2014, which includes 2,000 worldwide universities, is headed by the Harvard University (Unites States), the University of Toronto (Canada), the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), the Johns Hopkins University (United States) and the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom).

URAP evaluates the impact of the scientific activity carried out by higher education institutions by means of a series of bibliometric indicators that assess scientific productivity, the impact of research (citations) and international collaboration, among other aspects.
