The World Health Organization considers that 80% of global population suffer from back pain during their lives. In the field of physiotherapy, rehabilitation and physical condition there is a need to develop systems able to evaluate flexibility and body position in an accurate a quick way. The new spin-off of the University of Barcelona (UB) has been created by Sergio Escalera, lecturer in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Analysis; Miguel Reyes, PhD student at the UB, and a group of physical therapists of the Global Institute of Physiotherapy Mézières (IFGM). The Bosch i Gimpera Foundation has accompanied entrepreneurs in the definition of the business idea, the evaluation of the patentability strategy and the negotiation of the technology transfer contract.
