The CRAI Medicine Library of the University of Barcelona has created the online exhibition “L'obra de Santiago Ramón y Cajal” (Santiago Ramón y Cajalʼs work). It gathers a digital copy of scientistʼs works owned by the CRAI Medicine, Biology, Philology and Mundet Campus libraries, which are now available on the Digital Heritage Library (BiPaDi). The action pays tribute to the scientist and provides knowledge about one part of his extensive work. Santiago Ramón y Cajal was professor of Histology at the Faculty of Medicine of the UB between 1887 and 1892.

The exhibition includes some of the most important Ramón y Cajalʼs works on histology and pathological anatomy, for example Apuntes para el estudio del bulbo raquídeo, cerebelo y el origen de los nervios encefálicos (Est. Tipográfico de Fortanet, Madrid, 1895) and some of the histology manuals he elaborated. It also shows some literary and biographic works like Cuentos de vacaciones and Charlas de café.
