M. Cristina Manzanares, professor in the Department of Pathology and Experimental Therapy of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona, has been appointed general secretary of the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE). Nomination, which is effective on 1 January 2016, was made within the ADEE annual meeting which took place from 25 to 28 September in Szeged (Hungary).

Nomination, which is effective on 1 January 2016, was made within the ADEE annual meeting which took place from 25 to 28 September in Szeged (Hungary).
The ADEE, founded in 1975 in Strasbourg (France), is an independent European organisation representing academic dentistry and the community of dental educators. Since then, ADEE has played an important role by enhancing the quality of education, advancing the professional development of dental educators and supporting research in education and training of oral health personnel. The ADEE has participated in many European projects on dental education which have constituted the academic framework for Dentistry studies in the European Higher Education Area. In the annual meeting that took place in Birmingham in September 2013, Barcelona was chosen as the venue to celebrate the 2016 annual meeting.
