The University of Barcelona has just released the new Language Portal, a site that gathers all information about linguistic aspects. Among many other questions, it provides information about the linguistic requirements that must be fulfilled to participate in Erasmus programmes and it informs about the language support programmes offered by the University to both students and staff.

The main objective of the new portal is to provide members of the university community and citizens in general with a tool that facilitates the search of linguistic aspects. It provides specific information about the official language policy of course offerings. Moreover, it includes a link to the site Learn Languages at the UB, information for exchange students leaving and arriving to the University, and a great variety of linguistic resources. In addition, the portal describes the language policy of the University and the agents involved, and it facilitates legal documents on the question.

The portal is an initiative of the Office of the Commissioner for Multilingualism. Several administrative units of the University have collaborated in its development: Web Development, Office of Mobility and International Programs, Corporate Image and Publicity, Student Support Service and Language Services. The portal links to the School of Modern Languages, Hispanic Studies and Languages Services.
