On Monday May 2 from 9h to 14h, the 3rd UCATx annual session will be held in the Aula Magna of the University of Barcelona. It is launched by Catalan universities and the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan government), and it offers free open online courses which have different themes -in order to bring academic knowledge closer to society. With the motto “UCATx, how are you UCATx?” they will explore the learning hybridization models through MOOCs, throughout dialogue between experienced teachers and workshops on how to use these blended learning courses and how to articulate research around UCATx

The presentation of the session will be under Josep Pallarèsʼ charge, General Director of universities; Manel Viader, Vice-Rector of Teaching and Language Policy of the UB; and Teresa Sancho, Director of UCATx, who will present the growth data that the project has undergone since its beginnings in 2013. A roundtable will follow, in which four professors will speak of how MOOC have changed the teaching methodology at University and two workshops on some relevant themes of this field: Blended Learning, or the wide range of possibilities technology and its applications offer when complimenting education and offering quality content, and UCATx Research, where the results of some research projects will be exposed and they will explain the characteristics of the data base of the UCATx courses.

MOOC, and UCATx initiative, are looked at as a new tool for education aimed to transform university education into a better use of resources and internet in the Education fields.
