The University of Barcelona released a website in Arabic with general information of the five hundred years of history of this institution, the academic offering, university research, data related to the main rankings, and other information about the internationalization of the University.

The University of Barcelona released a website in Arabic with general information of the five hundred years of history of this institution, the academic offering, university research, data related to the main rankings, and other information about the internationalization of the University.

The vice-Rector for International Policy, Dr. Maria Callejón, regards this website launching as a new step in the internationalization of the University of Barcelona which will bring it closer to the Islamic world. “The collaboration with Arab universities is more intense, and now we have approximately two hundred Arab bachelor students and almost a hundred students divided around master, doctoral and postgraduate studies” says Callejón.

The University of Barcelona takes care of the permanent secretariat for the Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education (AECHE) and it has more than one hundred agreements signed with the main Arab universities -Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and the Arab Emirates.

International Relations

The University of Barcelona has strong ties with Europe, Latin America, North America and Asia, and it plays a unifying role between these regions. Moreover, it has an important and influencing presence in international networks such as the League of European Research Universities (LERU), an association made up by twenty-one leading universities in the field of research, and the European University Association (EUA), main association of universities in Europe.
