The activity aims to be a debating space for the philosophical concept of life with the contributions of authors such as Fichte, Husserl, Heidegger, Michel Henry, Emmanuel Lévinas or Hans Jonas. What is the relation between the philosophical concept of life and the biological determination?, is the concept of life an alternative to ontology?, is such a reflection essential for bioethics? -are some of the questions that will be debated on.

This is the first activity jointly organized by the Grífols Foundation Chair in Bioethics (University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia) and Aporia, the Research Group on Contemporary Philosophy, Ethics and Politics of the University of Barcelona, resulting from the signed agreement aiming to organize joint activities as well as creating a work group on this topic.
