A contest with nine years of history

Although Coïmbra Group takes part in this contest for the first time, 3MT has a long history. The University of Queensland (Australia) launched this contest in 2008 and it turned into a world phenomenon now organized by institutions from around the world.

3MT is an academic contest that challenges PhD students to present their research in English in only three minutes, to a general audience. With this idea, the 3MT supports PhD studentsʼ work and encourages them to share their research and talk about its importance for society.
