The seminar, which also counts with the participation of the UB lecturer Giovanni Cattini, will dedicate sessions to the governing work by Puig i Cadafalch in the Commonwealth of Catalonia and its historical context. The session will be given at the building “Can Serra” (rambla de Catalunya, 126), and will include a roundtable entitled “Els intel·lectuals i el poder. El cas de la presidència de Puig i Cadafalch” (Intellectuals and power. Case of Puig i Cadafalchʼs presidency).

The Year of Puig i Cadafalch commemorates the 150th anniversary of the birth of this eminent architect and the hundred years of his presidency in the Commonwealth of Catalonia. Josep Puig i Cadafalch is one of the distinguished figures at the turn of the 19th century in Catalonia. Architect, urban planner, art restorer (monuments), archaeologist, art historian with international projection, apart from politician, his legacy covers several fields: from his buildings in Barcelona and Maresme, to restorations such as the Seu dʼÈgara.
