Eduard González is replacing another UB student, Laura Falcó, EPSO representative up to this date, while Lluís Boada is the first student of the University of Barcelona to be ambassador in the European Students Union.

Boada says the European Students Union is “the highest body in the promotion of educational, social, economic and cultural interests of the students in Europe”. Boada was chosen by the Coordinator of Student Representatives of Public Universities (CREUP), the only state body to participate in the European Students Union. Boada will perform a task in “politics”, as he says, and will work with student representatives from different countries to work on some initiatives and present them in Europe. Boada, vice-president of the Student Council of the UB, has experience as a student representative, which gave him “negotiating skills, and the ability to reach agreements and specific plans with other students who might have a very different opinion”. Now he expects this work in Europe to give him “an open mind and the opportunity to share our values with other Europeansʼ”.

Eduard González will inform about the job opportunities offered by EPSO, which selects personnel in an important series of institutions: the European Parliament, European Council, European Commission, the Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the European External Action Service, the European Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, European Data Protection Supervisor and the Ombudsman. In September, he will go to Brussels to visit the European institutions in order to be the intermediary with the students of Barcelona. “I will manage EPSO social networks in Catalonia and will give conferences: there are no restrictions, I have to think about how to share all the information”, he says. For him, this is an opportunity “to start having responsibilities and grow”, but he values that this is a way to “network, but very important”.
