The 2-year project inHERE, aims to ease the access and integration of refugees to higher education institutions. In order to do so, the project tries to improve the reaction to the specific needs of these people with the transfer of knowledge, peer collaboration and academic association.

The event of July 7 is part of the second part of the project, Living Lab, led by the University of Barcelona and in which members from different European universities will design, explore, experiment, shape and analyse practices and policies to be applied to reality in order to assess action plans (current or future ones) for the universities regarding the reception of refugees.

In this meeting, inHERE will be presented as well as the results of the first part of the project (Good Practise Catalogue) and the content and planning of Living Lab. Also, the experiences of the reception of refugees in the University of Barcelona, the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Murcia will be shared. In the roundtables, people will debate on opportunities, challenges and obstacles of this situation and on the cooperation possibilities of the university and civil society and the public administrations in this field.

The inHERE project is co-funded by the European Union (Erasmus+ Programme), and coordinated by the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED). Apart from the University of Barcelona and UNIMED, other members of the project are the European Universities Association (EUA), Sapienza University of Rome and Campus France. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is an associate member. .
