Ten days after the beginning of Els Juliols of the University of Barcelona, the amount of registered students is over 1.600. These figures bring an absolute record, since there had never been such a high number in registrations in any of the previous editions, and it can keep on rising since registration is still open for all the courses to be taught next week, from the 17th to the 21st of July.

This year, seventy courses have been programmed, and are aimed at all audiences, covering current and relevant topics in almost all knowledge areas. With lecturers coming from different fields, university and professional areas, public and private sectors, the offering is structured into four main areas: Arts and humanities, Social sciences, Resources and strategies, Nature sciences and health.

Some of the courses that generated more interest in this edition of Els Juliols are  El tiempo y sus metamorfosis, Arte, literatura, música y pensamiento, El que volem saber de la normativa del català, and Estetització de la política i politització de lʼart.

“My experience in Els Juliols was great and I will repeat every year if I can”

“This is the first time I take up a course in Els Juliols, but now that I have tried it, I will repeat every year if I can”, says Lluïsa Vinyals, who was in the course L'evolució de la imatge cinematogràfica: del fotograma al cinema en 360 graus, and is very satisfied with it. “I chose this course because I love cinema and knew it would be fun, but it was better than I thought. Lecturers were excellent; we had fun and the lessons were fun too, interactive, dynamic. It was not boring at all, quite the contrary”.
