The Governing Council of the University of Barcelona approves of the accession to the National Pact for the Referendum

Today, the Governing Council of the University of Barcelona voted for the proposal of accession to the National Pact for the Referendum. The agreement was submitted by a group of 17 people from the administration and services staff and the teaching and research staff, and the student collective who are members of the Governing Council. The result of the voting has been 24 votes in favour, 13 votes against, 2 blank votes and 2 invalid ballots. This agreement by the Governing Council emphasises on giving support to initiatives carried out so far in the framework of the National Pact for the Referendum.

Today, the Governing Council of the University of Barcelona voted for the proposal of accession to the National Pact for the Referendum. The agreement was submitted by a group of 17 people from the administration and services staff and the teaching and research staff, and the student collective who are members of the Governing Council. The group of members of the Governing Council who promoted the agreement stated that in October 2012, Catalan universities had already expressed their accession to the National Pact for the Right to Decide with the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP) and that on December 17, 2013, the University Senate of the UB decided to support the consultation of November 9, 2014.

Approval of the public offer of occupation

The Governing Council also approved the public offering of employment of partial positions in the teaching and research staff. In particular, 11 positions of adjunct lecturer will be announced, to hire doctorate research staff who have finished the program Ramón y Cajal. They also approved the call for 29 positions of tenure track lecturers included in the Program Serra Hunter. The Vice-Rector for Teaching and Research Staff, Mercè Pallas, noted that they are currently negotiating the call for 59 more positions of tenured, adjunct and promotional teaching staff, with the Directorate General for Universities.
