This Wednesday, July 19, the 1st Postdoctoral Symposium UB - la Caixa is taking place at the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona. During the event, the research studies carried out by different researchers hired by the UB supported by la Caixa Banking Foundation -will be presented.

This Wednesday, July 19, the 1st Postdoctoral Symposium UB - la Caixa is taking place at the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona. During the event, the research studies carried out by different researchers hired by the UB supported by la Caixa Banking Foundation -will be presented.

In particular, some projects were explained: the postdoctoral project by Òscar Capdeferro, expert on legal mechanisms to fight corruption and promote good administration; Eveline Chagas presented her research on underage immigrants and tasks and interventions on social integration; Irene Garcia, who talked about the effects of the high levels of plant oils in the gilt diet to improve the culture of this species and contribute to innovate on these fishʼs feed; Alba Guimerà, talked about sociology of literature and the animal product, and Pablo Rivera, who explained his research on the impact of the insertion of digital technologies in Catalan schools.


The event was chaired by the rector of the UB, Joan Elias, and had the participation of the vice-rector for Teaching and Research Staff, Mercè Pallàs, and Ignasi López, director of Science of the Research and Strategy Area of la Caixa Banking Foundation.


Last year, la Caixa Banking Foundation supported financially, with an agreement with the University of Barcelona, the hiring of seventeen postdoctoral researchers. Five of them are presenting their research studies in the symposium. A new agreement and renewal of grants are expected for next year.
