The University of Barcelona takes part in the first edition of the International University Book Fair, in Mexico
The rectorʼs delegate for internationalization, Bibiana Crespo, and Editions and Publications of the University of Barcelona, are participating in the first edition of the International University Book Fair, which is taking place from the 22nd to the 27th of August.

Editions and Publications of the UB is in the stand of the Unión de Editoriales Universitarias Españolas (UNE) with then titles from their catalogue, among which are Breve historia de la Universidad de Barcelona and A brief history of the University of Barcelona, by Montserrat Fullola, published in Catalan in 2014 and now edited in Spanish and English to reach a broader audience. The book, which received the collaboration from the Language Services and the support of the Vice-Rectorʼs Office for Outreach and Internationalization, offers a disseminating and entertaining synthesis about the almost six hundred years of history of one of the oldest academic institutions in Europe.

The International University Book Fair (FILUNI), organized by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with Dirección General de Publicaciones y Fomento Editorial (DGPFE), aims to be the most complete exhibition of the university editing services production and higher education institutions, mainly in Latin America, as well as a meeting to give this field visibility and outreach. During these six days, there will be more than 120 academic literary, cultural and professional activities. This first edition is dedicated to the University of Salamanca, considered the oldest among the existing Spanish universities and which will turn eight hundred years old in 2018.
Participation in this first edition of the International University Book Fair is framed within the activities of the Ibero-American Universities Union, which the University of Barcelona, University of Buenos Aires, the COmplutense University of Madrid, the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the University of Sao Paulo are part of, sponsored by Santander Universities -aiming to become an international reference and have a coordinated voice in activities promoting research, knowledge progresses and progress of people in all the Ibero-American area in higher education.
