Meeting at the UB Northern Mediterranean Transactional Campus to describe priority collaboration areas

The second meeting of the UB Northern Mediterranean Transactional Campus is taking place today. This is an academic and scientific cooperation project in which the University of Barcelona, Aix-Marseille University, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Sapienza University of Rome take part. Rector Joan Elias and head members of the other universities are taking part in this meeting, in which the priority collaboration areas will be named.

The second meeting of the UB Northern Mediterranean Transactional Campus is taking place today. This is an academic and scientific cooperation project in which the University of Barcelona, Aix-Marseille University, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Sapienza University of Rome take part. Rector Joan Elias and head members of the other universities are taking part in this meeting, in which the priority collaboration areas will be named.

Moreover, other specific aspects will be also covered, such as the presentation of common projects for the European program Partnership on Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA), aimed at designing solutions for a more sustainable water management and agricultural Systems.

The Northern Mediterranean Transactional Campus has four main aims: strengthening bonds among the participating universities regarding mobility, training, research and innovation; jointly developing large projects in the European and international framework; defining the priority themes and fields of excellence in common, and strengthening the academic and scientific potential of these four universities as well as their ability of action and their positions in rankings.

At first, the following actions have been identified: developing student mobility and multiple degrees among the universities of the campus, strengthening the cooperation within the framework of European projects and collaborative research projects. The four participating universities of this project gather around a total of 300,000 students.
