The University School of Cinema and Visual Communication of Catalonia, (ESCAC), affiliated with the University of Barcelona, has launched the second edition of the summer courses for the program Cine Base. This year, there have been more than 350 participants -high school teachers and youngsters aged between 13 and 17 from all parts of Spain- who will be part of the School.

In the summer edition, the program Cine Base is offering two courses. One is the Sumer School, which has gathered 190 teenagers this year. This audiovisual campus lasts two weeks and offers practice individual and group lessons on narrative every day, in which students write, film and set up their own practices.

There is also the one-week intensive training course for lecturers: high school teachers receive training in the basic skills of audiovisual format. The lecturers learn carrying out the activities from the Audiovisual Narrative Guideline created by ESCAC. The course is complemented with pratical lessons on photography technique, staging, sound, script, and screen direction. More than 160 teachers are taking part in this second edition.

The aim of Cine Base is to implement audiovisual narrative as a basic and essential skill in secondary education.
