Sixteen students and six lecturers from the University of Tunis and the University of Gabes took part in an intensive course on Conservation-Restoration at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona last week (from September 7 to 17). The training was given by Anna Nualart, Margarita Alcobé and Mònica López, lecturers of the bachelor degree on Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Heritage. The visit was part of the project Lʼinnovation dans la formation pour les biens culturels: Un noveau curriculum euro-méditerranéen pour la preservation des biens culturels INFOBC, funded by the European Unionʼs program, Tempus, which supports the improvement of university education.

The project aims to create the bachelor degree on Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Heritage in Tunisia, university education which had not existed in this country before. It is led by the University of Urbino and four other European universities are taking part in it (the UB is the only one in Spain) and six Tunisian universities.
