The University of Barcelona holds an outstanding position in international rankings. This is shown in the results of the 2019 edition of the QS World University Rankings, which list the University of Barcelona in the second position in Spain, following Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. The UB holds the 166th position, ten positions below last yearʼs. UAM is listed in the 156th position and UAB holds the 193rd position.

The University of Barcelona holds an outstanding position in international rankings. This is shown in the results of the 2019 edition of the QS World University Rankings, which list the University of Barcelona in the second position in Spain, following Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. The UB holds the 166th position, ten positions below last yearʼs. UAM is listed in the 156th position and UAB holds the 193rd position.

The UB goes back to the position it held in 2015 and 2016. Since there are 26,000 universities worldwide, the UB is among the top 1 % universities worldwide, according the QS World University Rankings.

Regarding indicators, the University of Barcelona stands out in academic reputation -holding the 81st position worldwide- and employer reputation -174th position-. In the latter, it has gone 4 positions down.

QS World University Rankings, apart from assessing reputation, which accounts for a 40 %, and employer reputation, accounting for a 10 %, also assesses scientific citations per professor (20 %), teacher-student ratio (20 %), and the internationalization of the teaching staff (5 %) and students (5 %).
