The sectors of higher education and research have to adapt to a new digital society, adopt the necessary technologies and tools to face the challenges of a new digital era based on data where features like agility, speed of change and immediacy change the fundamentals of both sectors.

The sectors of higher education and research have to adapt to a new digital society, adopt the necessary technologies and tools to face the challenges of a new digital era based on data where features like agility, speed of change and immediacy change the fundamentals of both sectors.

To understand digital transformation and how the public sector can adapt, the Vice-Rectorʼs Office for Digital Transformation of the UB has organized the session “Transformar UB” which aims to give a voice to the university community and society to work on the actions to be taken to change the University.

The activity will take place on July 11 at 9 a.m. in the Aula Magna of the Historical Building; it will offer a debate with the following participants: Oriol Pujol, vice-rector for Digital Transformation; Mariona Grané, expert on educational technology; Genís Roca, president of Rocasalvatella and expert on digital transformation; Xavier Marcet, president of the consultancy company Lead to Change; Itziar de Lecuona, subdirector of the Bioethics and Law Observatory of the UB; Gemma Marfany, lecturer from the Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Statistics in genetics. The debate will be chaired by Ignasi Labastida, head of the CRAI Office for Knowledge Dissemination.

The activity will close with the award ceremony for the Meme Contest of the UB (#memsUB).
