The aim of the Code of Ethics, according to the president of the Ethics Committee, Norbert Bilbeny, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, is to guide and support the rights and responsibilities of the collectives in the University. The regulation sets several principles and rules on ethical behaviour for all members of the UB.

Academic freedom, professional responsibility, scientific and academic integrity, honesty, equality of rights, respect, privacy and confidentiality, sustainability and solidarity, and potential risk behaviours are the blocs that create the Code of Ethics, which have to be interpreted by the Ethics Committee of the UB. After having been approved in the Governing Council, in comes a review process to proceed to work on a definite version of this document.
