This yearʼs edition, which started on Tuesday 3, has offered Jorra i Gomorra, Sosun, LʼEspiadimonis and Side Chick. Nuu will perform today, Tuesday 17, and Melenas will close the concert series on Thursday.

After thirteen editions, the most loyal audience in Els Vespres does not miss any concert, because they know they will find out emerging bands and that it wonʼt be disappointing. Gerard says that “the University of Barcelona does a great job when preparing cultural activities like this, in such a great environment”. Sylvana highlighted that “the environment is relaxing and friendly” and Luís is glad the concerts are given in such a great place and says “the acoustics are perfect”.
There are other people who just found about the cycle, like Àlex, who says he “didnʼt even know about this garden” but he came to see a concert and has already come back: “what I like the most is that we are not used to see these bands”. The environment and the place are factors the audience values positively, apart from being so close to the bands.
The artistic director of the concert series, Mireia MAdroñero, states “the balance, so far, is very positive” and notes the influx is great and the reception of the audience (very diverse, curious and open to discover more in every concert) is fantastic. “Regarding the musicians, all of them are grateful to be here and to receive such a warm environment in this unique space”.
A promotion platform for those who enter this world
The University of Barcelona has been offering Els Vespres since 2007. The series has become a promotion platform for many bands who step into the music field and offer a program with bands with a great personality. In its first editions, Els Vespres brought Mishima, Las Migas and Manel, bands that were starting in the music world at that time, and it has now become a summer must in the city.
