Institut Montjuïc wins the UB League of Debate for Secondary Schools
Institut Montjuïc won the UB League of Debate for Secondary Schools (Lliga de Debat de Secundària i Batxillerat de la Universitat de Barcelona), within the framework of the contest driven by the Vives University Network- Over these two days, sixteen teams formed by students from fourth year of secondary school and first and second year of upper secondary school have debated on the topic “Does humor have a limit?”
Institut Montjuïc won the UB League of Debate for Secondary Schools (Lliga de Debat de Secundària i Batxillerat de la Universitat de Barcelona), within the framework of the contest driven by the Vives University Network- Over these two days, sixteen teams formed by students from fourth year of secondary school and first and second year of upper secondary school have debated on the topic “Does humor have a limit?”
This ludic and training competition tries to make students learn how to speak in public, how to work in teams, and speak up for a topic both in favour or against it, using Catalan as the lingua franca. Students had to register in some of the universities from the Vives Network and played with other participants who had registered in the same university.
In the University of Barcelona, the activity was organized by the Student Support Services (SAE), with the support from the Vice-Rectorʼs Office of Students and Language Policy, and the Debating Association of the University (ADUB).
The team from Institut Montjuïc will represent the University of Barcelona at the 5th League of Debate for Secondary Schools of the Vives Network, to be held from April 11 to 13 at Miguel Hernández University (Elx).
