The main interest of the Centre for Research on Welfare Economics (CREB) is the study of public decision-making processes from the perspective of Economic Theory, Game Theory and Quantitative Analysis. The research group constructs flexible tools to evaluate public policies related to welfare, environmental policy and the analysis of potential reforms.
These tools are quantitative, computable economic simulation models, which analyse and quantify the economic consequences of public policy intervention and the welfare implications for economic agents. Research is focused on the analysis of certain areas of great economic importance, such as: health, pensions, education and policies that encourage economic agents to use clean energy sources (to reduce greenhouse gas emissions).
