The Ranking Web of World Universities

The UB's ranking position

The Ranking Web of World Universities is published by Cybermetrics Lab, a research group at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The ranking analyses the web presence of over twenty thousand higher education institutions and aims to promote the volume and quality of their web publications. The University of Barcelona has been awarded 227th place in the Ranking Web's worldwide table, and 77th place in its European classification.

Methodology

Ranking is based on four performance indicators:

  • Volume of web contents: number of pages retrieved from the four biggest search engines.
  • Visibility and impact of web publications: total number of external inlinks (cite citations) received.
  • Files: number of files and volume of use.
  • Academic: number of articles and citations included in Google Scholar
