Dr. Elisenda Paluzie Hernandez has been awarded with the Catalonia Economics Award for her book “We can! The keys to the economic viability of an independent Catalonia”, an award given by the Catalan Society of Economics every two years to the best work on Catalan Economy.

The jury of XIV Catalonia Economics Prize in 2015, formed by Eduard Ride Valeri, Oriol Amat Salas, Núria Roca Bosch, Martí Parellada Sabata, Joan-Ramon Rovira Homs and Antoni Montserrat Solé, met in Barcelona on October 13 and decided to award the above-mentioned work, for the good and detailed economic analysis and the exploration of several hypotheses for the future. The work has been published by Rosa dels Vents (Barcelona, ​​2014).

The Catalonia Economics award was instituted by the Catalan Society of Economics in 1991. It convenes every two years alternating with the Catalan Economics Society Award. The winners so far have been Germè Bel, Ramon Caminal, Isabel Busom (also a XREPP member) and her team, Xavier Vives, Lluís Torrens, Carles Manera, Francesc Valls, Antoni Riera, Ernest Reig, Santi Ponce, Josep Oliver, Pere Riera, James Thomson i Pere Lleonart.

The award ceremony of the XIV Catalonia Economics Award 2015 will take place on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 19 am in the auditorium of Palau Macaya (Passeig de Sant Joan, 108, Barcelona). Before the award ceremony, Dr. Elisenda Paluzie and Hernandez will make a brief presentation of her work and present its main conclusions.
