January 22, 2018 video  debates about the future of pensions. It was held by two economists: Miren Etxezarreta, doctor in Economy by the London School of Economics and UAB, and Concepció Patxot, professor in Economic Theory at UB. They both examined the proposal made by minister Fátima Báñez to widen the base and calculate the pension during all the employee’s working life. They also presented some facts about why the pensions’ financial cushion is emptying and what its future will be. In fact, both of them coincide in stating that pensions will be cut because people live longer years and the Social Security’s financial cushion is empty and that retired people are losing purchasing power.
