La Xarxa Temàtica "Dones i Cultures", reconeguda com a tal en el marc del Pla de Recerca de Catalunya (DOGC 30/12/97) està integrada pels següents grups de recerca:

Des de fa dues dècades, les universitats d'arreu del món han dedicat un espai creixent a l'àmbit dels estudis sobre les dones, el gènere i la multiculturalitat, amb la creació de departaments i instituts de recerca dedicats a aquest tema (Women's Studies). La Xarxa Temàtica "Dones i Cultures" està centrada en els estudis sobre el gènere i la divesitat ètnica des del punt de vista històric, sociològic, filosòfic, lingüístic i literari.
DESCRIPTIONS AND GOALS
In the last two decades, the universities around the world have been devoting a significant amount of interest to the study of women, gender and multiculturalism. Proof of this attention is the stablishment of departments and institutional centers of research devoted to the field of Women's Studies. The Network "Women and Cultures" bases its research on the study of gender and ethnic diversity from a historical, sociological, philosophical, linguistic and literary point of view.

Impuls de la recerca en aquest àmbit (elaboració de tesis doctorals, organització de seminaris i congressos, publicació dels resultats de la recerca, etc.)·
Aplicacions al sector editorial (assessorament literari, vinculació entre les escriptores i la Universitat).·
Aplicacions al sector empresarial en l'àmbit de la comunicació i els recursos humans.AREAS OF EXPERTISE / AREAS OF APPLICATION · Teaching and development of studies on women, gender and multiculturalism at university and high school levels · Stimulate academic research in this field (doctoral thesis, organisation of seminars and sympossiums, publications of proceedings...) · Applications in the publishing field (literary assessment, connections between women writers and the University) · Applications in the business field, especially in the area of communication and human resources.
