575 voices: past, present and future of a university that thinks, feels and creates
On the occasion of the university's 575th anniversary, we are holding a literary competition open to all students, with short texts in three creative modalities: personal letter, intimate diary and literary Instagram. The competition opens in February and culminates with the award ceremony at a special event for Sant Jordi. An opportunity to give voice to student creativity and make it part of the university's memory.
Organized by: Office of the Vice-Rector for Students and University Life
As part of the celebration of the university's 575 years of history, we are holding a literary competition open to all students, with the aim of giving voice to their experiences, views and reflections on university life. The competition aims to be a showcase of the thinking and creativity that have accompanied the institution generation after generation, thus reaffirming the fundamental role of students in the construction and historical and cultural evolution of our University.
The competition proposes three literary modalities that encourage personal expression and originality:
- Letter to my university self (past, present or future), which invites an intimate reflection on the path taken or imagined within the university;
- Fragment of an intimate university diary, which invites you to share real or fictional experiences from the perspective of a student; and
- Literary Instagram, a short and current format that combines creative language with a unique and direct style.
These modalities have been chosen because they favour singular and experiential writing, and are less susceptible to being generated by artificial intelligence. To encourage creative responsibility, each work must be accompanied by a brief explanation of the creative process, and the possibility of performing a live composition among the finalists is envisaged, to assess the coherence and authenticity of their style. The outstanding works are presented at a special awards ceremony on April 23, as part of the activities organized for Sant Jordi's Day. The winning proposals will be published in a digital collection.
