The musical heritage of the UB: past, present and future challenges
The event consists of a staging of the musical heritage at the UB: Past, Present and Future.
Organized by: GEPAM Research Group Rare Book and Manuscript CRAI Library Office of the Vice-Rector for Culture
It has three parts:
- Past: presentation of an artistic documentary on musical heritage produced by the GEPAM-UB Musical Heritage research group and directed by Guillem Burgueño (ESCAC), in which we reflect on the Catalan and Barcelona musical heritage.
- Present: we present the musical heritage of the UB with music from the UB's Ancient Collection. Mini-concert of: (1) two pieces for piano (from the UB's 1378 manuscript) by Roger Illa; (2) four vocal pieces (from the UB's Ancient Collection) accompanied by viola da gamba and theorbo, by the UB's Schola Cantorum Universitaria Barcinonensis directed by Carles Gumí, Sergi Casademunt (viola da gamba) and Ferran Pisà (theorbo).
- Future: what we are doing and how we project the UB's musical heritage beyond the UB. Presentation of the UB's musical heritage website and the work of sound recording the musical heritage that the UB is carrying out.
