The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
General objectives:
- To gain knowledge and skills in the application of the process management method.
- To understand, optimize and revise the process of health care (process flows).
- To learn management techniques for operations (application of Lean management and Six Sigma) to improve efficiency in organizations.
- To acquire knowledge and skills of practical application for Lean methodology and tools in the health system.
- To acquire knowledge and skills of practical application for Six Sigma DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control) in the health system.
Specific objectives:
- Definition, type of processes. Process maps.
- Process Management. Costs of No Quality.
- Lean Philosophy.
- Application of the main Lean tools (Visual Management, Kanban, 5S, Value Stream Mapping).
- Establishment of Lean project in A3 format.
- Kaizen: preparation, phases, responsibilities and dynamics.
- Basic concepts of Six Sigma terminology.
- Practical application of House of Quality, Kano and Critical to Quality (CTQ) Trees.
- Practical application of the process flow measure methodology.
- Introduction to basic methods of process flow analysis.
- Introduction to basic graphic and statistical methods of data analysis.
- Application of basic methods to select improvement actions.
- Understanding and practical application of Statistical Process Control.
