RECOMMENDED APPLICANT PROFILES AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Graduates in Legal Sciences and Law, and Economic Sciences, according to UNESCO nomenclature.

ADMISSION FOR APPLICANTS NOT HOLDING A DEGREE QUALIFICATION:

The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

- To learn how to identify, differentiate and describe national, European and international levels of international private law (DIPR).
- To know how to organise sources of law, according to the hierarchy and other criteria on applicability.
- To understand the criteria by which Spanish judicial authorities and other relevant bodies assume competence in international private affairs.
- To understand and be able to discern and explain the effective implementation of this competence alongside that of foreign authorities, in specific fields.
- To understand and be able to discern and explain the principles used to determine which law is applicable in international private situations.
- To learn the principles regarding which law is applicable and international jurisdiction.
- To learn the types, frameworks, requirements and procedures for efficacy in judicial and extrajudicial rulings outside of Spain.
- To understand the role of regulatory instruments and the principles of efficacy of foreign rulings in specific areas.
- To learn the principles of efficacy of foreign rulings and the principles on which law is applicable and international jurisdiction.
