The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
General objectives:
- To gain knowledge and skills for the application of process management methodology.
- To understand, optimize and review healthcare processes (process flows).
- To learn operational management techniques (application of the lean management and six sigma techniques) to improve the efficiency of organizations.
- To gain knowledge and skills for the application of the lean management methodology and tools to the healthcare system.
- To gain knowledge and skills for the application of the DMAIC method (Define-Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control) of six sigma to the healthcare system.
Specific objectives:
- To learn how to define process types and maps.
- To understand process management and costs of no quality.
- To learn about the Lean philosophy.
- To learn how to apply the main Lean tools (visual management, Kanban, 5S, value stream mapping).
- To be able to finalise a production project in A3 format.
- To understand the preparation, phases, responsibilities and dynamics of the Kaizen methodology.
- To learn the basic concepts of Six Sigma terminology.
- To be able to apply House of Quality, Kano and Critical to Quality (CTQ) Trees.
- To be able to apply process flow measure methodology.
- To understand basic methods of process flow analysis.
- To understand basic graphical and statistical data analysis methods.
- Application of basic methods to select actions for improvement.
- To understand and be able to apply statistical process control.
